The Chateau 

If local government were a building it would be a crumbling stately home , still grand but decrepit now in parts,  it’s gardens over grown and floor boards warped. Makes you wonder does it have a future or will it be allowed to decay through lack of funds and indifference, no longer considered relevant. The longer it’s neglected the more costly it is to restore it. But it’s amazing what can be done with limited funds, unlimited creativity and boundless energy plus a lot of skilled know how. Yes I have been watching Escape to the Chateau on channel 4. 

Dick and Angel the two larger than life characters who are transforming the Chateau with their can do attitude, profession skills, creativity and business acumen remind me of some of the best people working in Local Authorities up and down the country.
