The OLC is home to a series of online communities of practice, which have been set up to help you to share and find information. Access to all our communities is FREE, though in some cases registration is required. The communities of practice within the OLC provide obesity and nutrition practitioners with a platform to exchange evidence based information and knowledge with colleagues. Interacting with colleagues regularly will deepen your knowledge and expertise in obesity and nutrition.
Each community provides you with access to:
- Online discussion space
- Regular alerts on new resources
- Option to subscribe to a weekly email digest of the community discussion
The communities of practice are
National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) community (access by registration only)
Literature update community (access by registration only)
Information needs community (no registration needed)
We are testing the value and use of communities of practice on behalf of Public Health England, with an aim to see where communities of practice are supportive of existing teams, work and operations in obesity. If you want to know more about this, feel free to contact us and or check out our website www.ukhealthforum.org.uk
Did you know that on the OLC you can find resources and evidence geared towards you working in local government? We source and critically appraise resources for you, so all you have to do is sign up for alerts. We also have a database of obesity case studies from England that might be useful to you.
